The Brewster's - Warren, Michelle, Kaitlyn and Michael decided to do something a little different this year for Christmas.
Tired of buying the same old undies, socks, perfume and chocolates we normally resort to when we are out of good ideas, we and have instead pooled the money we would normally spend on the people we normally buy a little something for, and are running a kind of a 'sweep' for a bit of fun for Summer.
Recently we opened a Sports Betting account with my old mate Norm Short (www.flemingtonsportsbet.com.au) and have, on your behalf, taken out $5 bets on Australian Open Tennis players.
Just like the Sweep for the Melbourne Cup we have drawn names of players and names of people we love out of a hat and allocated you all players in this years 2010 Aussie Open.
The slight difference with this sweep is that each player was also awarded Odds at the time of purchase so the payout, if your player wins the Open, will vary greatly depending on their rank.
This also means that if you happen to get long shot player you will get more cash than should the favorite win.
Now we know some of the little ones won't really understand all this but we hope you can explain it to them and join in the fun waiting to find out who wins.
Good luck to all of you and once again Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!
